FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions are always welcome.
Choosing therapy for your child can come with a lot of questions. Here are a few answers to help you know what to expect.
Getting Started
Every child develops at their own pace, and it’s completely normal to have questions along the way. If you have concerns about your child’s speech, language, communication, feeding skills, or simply aren’t sure whether what you’re noticing is typical, we can talk through your concerns together. You don’t need to know exactly what kind of support your child needs before reaching out.
Marigold Milestones provides pediatric speech, language, and feeding services for children from infancy through school age. Therapy is always tailored to your child’s developmental level, individual needs, and your family’s priorities.
Marigold Milestones offers mobile therapy in Bel Air, Maryland and surrounding areas, allowing children to receive support in the comfort of their own home. Virtual services are also available when appropriate for your child and family.
The consultation is a relaxed opportunity for us to connect before you commit to anything. We’ll talk about your child, what you’ve been noticing, your concerns and goals, and whether an evaluation or therapy may be a good next step. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask questions and learn more about how Marigold Milestones can support your family.
Evaluations are designed to help us understand your child as a whole, not simply produce a score. Depending on your child’s needs, an evaluation may include parent interview, play and observation, standardized assessment, and other developmentally appropriate activities. Afterward, we’ll discuss the results together, answer your questions, and talk about recommendations and next steps.
Sessions are individualized to your child and designed to feel engaging, comfortable, and meaningful. Therapy may look like playing with favorite toys, reading books, practicing communication during everyday routines, exploring foods, or coaching caregivers through strategies they can use at home. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to be part of the process so that new skills can carry over into everyday life.
Marigold Milestones is currently a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows therapy to be individualized based on your child’s needs and your family’s goals without being limited by insurance requirements. Upon request, a superbill can be provided for families who would like to seek possible out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
